For the self-drive enthusiast...

Bruce Highway - travelling north
The Gladstone Region starts approximately 450 kilometres north of Brisbane, with several key access points off the Bruce Highway.

Turn off at Miriam Vale for the picturesque Discovery Coast at the Boyne/Tannum intersection for the seaside communities of Boyne Island and Tannum Sands, or at Benaraby for the harbour city of Gladstone.  Take to the hinterland by turning left into Calliope for the Banana Shire and its centre, Biloela.

Bruce Highway - travelling south
From Mackay it is about four and a half hours drive, and only one hours drive from Rockhampton.  Turn off at Mt Larcom to venture into Gladstone, or continue along the Highway for exits to Boyne Island, Tannum Sands and the Discovery Coast.  Turn right into Calliope for your exit the Gladstone's hinterland, the Banana Shire.

Port Curtis Way
This is Highway 58 through Gladstone, between Benaraby to the south and Mt Larcom to the north.  The diversion adds just 6 kilometres to the coastal drive.

Inland Highways

Via the Burnett Highway or Country Way, turn east into Biloela for an hours drive along the Dawson Highway or Gorges Way to the City of Gladstone, or turn right to venture to the southern section of the Gladstone Region.

From the Leichhardt Highway enter the Gladstone Region through the Dawson Valley and the township of Theodore.

Other modes of transport...

Coach
Several Brisbane to Cairns services call at Gladstone daily.  The 24 hour coach terminal is City Centre Mobil on Dawson Road.  Greyhound Australia runs services into Agnes Water.  For more information contact Greyhound Australia on 131 499.

QR Travel Train
Sit back and relax aboard the Tilt Train en route to your holiday destination in the Gladstone Region.  Escape the hassle of busy highways and city streets and relax while someone else does the driving!  The Tilt Train operates daily with a number of other QR trains also servicing the Gladstone Region.

Air Services
Jump aboard a Dash 8 with Qantaslink for a hassle free flight between Brisbane and Gladstone.  The Gladstone Airport is located just 8 kilometres out of the city and offers the convenience of daily flights between Brisbane and Gladstone.  An airport is also located at Thangool, near Biloela and offers daily flights to Brisbane.

Boats and Yachts
