Lake Awoonga is open for fishing all year round with a limit only applying in the closed season in the months of December and January. Barra 1 is a 33ft houseboat located on the beautiful Lake Awoonga. The vessel has 2 double and 4 single berths. Fully self contained and fully screened, the vessel also contains a radio, CD, ensuite, large shower and toilet, ice box, gas fridge and freezer, gas BBQ and outdoor furniture. Benaraby, home to a rural community of about 650 people near the Boyne River, is a small highway town, with accommodation options and a service station. The Boyne River and the holiday village nearby are great spots for fishing, swimming and lazing in the sun. A handy rest area just off the Bruce Highway is a great spot to take a break and refresh. You can replenish your fuel, food and convenience supplies with no hassle! Just after Benaraby, you will find it's only a short drive west to Lake Awoonga.
