As the northernmost surf beach on the east coast, Agnes Water is a mecca for board riders and offers safe swimming and surfing. It is patrolled by lifesavers during peak seasons. Named after a schooner that disappeared in 1873, Agnes Water is a relatively quiet seaside village with excellent accommodation and amenities.

Step back in time at the Miriam Vale Shire Museum at Springs Road in Agnes Water. The Museum showcases the history of the area and restored original memorabilia. The collection was commenced by the late Aurthur Jeffery in 1972 and is housed in two buildings.

The original museum has been moved to its present site and restored to hold memorabilia of early shire life. The Maritime display has information on the Endeavor voyage featuring Cook's charts and journals. Photographs of the actual plans collected by Joseph Banks and Daniel Solander are on display.

Visit one of the historical monuments of the Region at Tom Jeffery Memorial Park, Agnes Street which is home to the graves of the first settlers in the Region, Daniel and Rachael Clowes. From there walk along the foot bridge to the golden sands of Agnes Water Beach and enjoy the unspoilt beauty of this spectacular coastline.
