Access by four-wheel-drive is recommended. You'll require permits and need to follow advice provided by Queensland Parks and Wildlife when you visit these areas. Eurimbula National Park, located in the Discovery Coast Area, features rainforest closer to the beach. Visitors to Eurimbula can observe mangrove fringed estuaries, fresh water paperbark swamps, coastal lowlands eucalypt forests with weeping cabbage palms to tall rainforests with towering hoop pines. It is excellent for bushwalking, boating, fishing and hiking opportunities. Also in the Discovery Coast is Deepwater National Park, with a beautiful coat and fresh water wetlands. Deepwater features an unspoilt stretch of coastline with high sand dunes backed by open forest and vine thicket with banksia heath to the west.
