Miriam Vale Shire is a unique outdoor holiday destination - a beautiful and varied coastline stretching 60 kilometres from Baffle Creek in the south to Turkey Beach in the north.  A visit to this area and you'll feel more relaxed in no time.  The two prominent coastal settlements of the area are Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, known as the Discovery Coast

As the gateway to the Discovery Coast, Miriam Vale has a Visitor Information Centre on the highway, which is open seven days.

With rural hinterland, secluded beaches, untouched National Parks, access to the Great Barrier Reef, friendly people and fantastic fishing, you're sure to enjoy every part of the Miriam Vale Shire.

The Council encourages residents and visitors to take advantage of the many recreational activities available in a Shire boasting with beautiful beaches, rivers, National Parks, rural hinterland and perfect year-round weather.

With a focus on sustainable development, Council has developed and implemented a number of strategies to assist and encourage Shire development in a planned way.  The Miriam Vale Shire has one of the fastest growth rates in the State, focused on the coastal area's tourism and residential potential.

The Miriam Vale Shire Council welcomes enquiries from potential developers, investors and residents.  The Shire is made up of coastal, mountain and rural areas.  The main centre of urban population is the Agnes Water - Town of 1770 community. The coastal Bruce Highway runs through the Shire.
