The Sunrise Longboard Classic at Agnes Water in March, a major longboard surfing competition.

The Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race is a Harbour Festival feature, and at the whim of the wind and weather, the sleek yachts arrive in Gladstone during the Easter long weekend.

The 1770 Commemorative Festival includes a re-enactment of the first landing of Captain James Cook in Queensland on 24 May 1770, as well as a street parade, market day and live entertainment. To find out more, go to www.1770festival.com

The 11th National Histrorical Machinery Association Rally runs until the 22nd July. Check out the Mt Larcom Show in June. A country agricultural show spanning two days, there's entertainment, animal shows, markets, wood chipping, competitions and a championship dog show.


September is for seafood lovers in the Gladstone Region, with the Gladstone Seafood Festival taking centre stage. Succulent seafood meals, sales of Fresh seafood, fashion parades, great jazz music an novelty events makes the Gladstone Marina the place to be!


The Lion's Lake Awoonga Family Fishing Festival, held in October gives you the opportunity to catch some of the best fresh water fish- around- the magnificent barramundi! The fishing competition and festival includes displays and entertainment.

There is a variety of other entertainments including shows at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre, special interest displays, conferences, markets and sporting carnivals.
